PURPOSE:To prevent oil from turning into a feeding part, by installing a ring for preventing oil from turning into the feeding part, to the side of a contact area to a pressure roller, on the inside of the feeding part, in a heating and fixing roller of a fixing device. CONSTITUTION:A ring 6 consisting of oil absorbent 'Normex(R)' felt, or Si rubber etc., is installed to the outside of a contact area to a pressure roller 3 and an oil applying roller 4, on the inside of a feeding part 5. In this state, a sheet S to which a toner image T sent from the direction as indicated with an arrow through a transfer process has been transferred is inserted and held by a heating and fixing roller 2 and the pressure roller 3, and while being carried, based on the respective rotations, the toner image T is melted and fixed to the sheet by Joule heat generated from a heating film. When it is melted and fixed, the toner which has been offset to the surface of the roller 2 flows in the axial direction in a molten state together with oil which has been supplied from the oil applying roller 4. However, oil and a molten toner are obstructed by the ring 6 and are stagnant on its inside.
