PURPOSE:To realize 127 kinds of expression including 'KATAKANA' (Square form of Japanese syllabary) characters by one character by selecting which of seven measures is painted out according to a point display number in a point constitution table. CONSTITUTION:The character display of a bar 10 in a bar code E39 is 1-3-4-5-6-7 by the point display number in the point constitution table. Namely, a point display number 1 is one-point 1 and at the stage right above the lowermost digit of a measure and a point display number 3 is 3-point 3 and a 3rd stage from the lowermost digit of the measure; and measures of respective stages are painted out and respective measures of 4-5-6-7 are also painted out to make the display of the bar 10 by a reading machine. Other seven characters are represented with the same specification.
