PURPOSE:To enhance the heat resistance by applying a zirconia coating layer to the combustion chamber side of a piston head, covering a cermet holder with a metal sheet having a factor of liner expansion approx. the same as the coating layer, and by coupling the piston head with the skirt. CONSTITUTION:A zirconia coating layer 3 is applied to the combustion chamber side of a piston head 1, and cermet holder 12 is covered with a metal sheet 11 having approx. the same factor of linear expansion as the coating layer 3. The piston head 1 is coupled with the piston skirt 2 through heat insulating seal 8. This enhances the heat resistance and heat insulating performance of the piston head. |
