PURPOSE:To check the sudden buildup of a cylinder thrust as well as to improve the riding comfort by interconnecting a hydraulic suspension cylinder to a gas spring via a damping valve which alters the generated damping force in inverse proportion to exciting frequency to the said cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic suspension cylinder 1 and a hydraulic power source 2 both are interconnected to each other by a passage 3 where an active control valve 4 is set up. In this case, a gas spring 6 is connected to this hydraulic suspension cylinder 1 via a damping valve 7. And, this damping valve 7 is formed into a frequency dependent type, depending upon exciting frequency to the hydraulic suspension cylinder 1 and being altered of the generated damping force automatically as the valve opening is changed. This damping valve 7 is constituted so as to be alterable to low damping force at time of high frequency excitation from high damping force at time of low frequency excitation. With this constitution, the sudden buildup of a cylinder thrust is checked, whereby what is known as a 'feeling of stiffness' is eliminated and the riding comfort is thus improved. |
