PURPOSE:To obtain a copy without damage of a book, and also, without distortion of a character in the center, even in the case of a thick book, by using an attachment by an optical member whose central part is a mountain shape. CONSTITUTION:A book to be copied 1 is placed on an optical member 2 being an attachment for the copy. A light beam 4 is fed from a glass 5 side of an optical scanning surface of a copying machine, the light beam 4 is curved by the optical member 2 and copying can be executed clearly without distortion extending over the central part of the book 1. Also, owing to this optical member 2, it does not occur that a thick book is damaged as well. The optical member 2 can be constituted integrally by using PMMA, and also, that which has connected both the right and left pieces by a joining part 3 may be suffice.
