The invention relates to a method making it possible to insulate rainwater pipes passing outside and fixed against the facades of buildings in order to prevent them from freezing. This is obtained by fitting a modular flexible heating cord 1 equipped with a thermostat applied along the rainwater pipe 2. It also comprises formwork made of a rigid insulating panel 3 with additional insulating material sprayed in the pasty state 4, which formwork is fixed mechanically 8 by means of the bracket 5 treated against corrosion and fitted on a flexible joint 6.
