PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for many image buffers by generating a dot array by using painting-out section data generated by an image start contour vector array dot generating means, an image start dot detecting means, an image end contour vector array dot generating means, and an image end point detecting means, and restoring an original pattern. CONSTITUTION:The image start point detecting means 4 detects a dot array which succeeds on the same scanning line (in X direction) according to a dot array supplied successively from the image start contour vector array dot generating means 2 and determines the dot appearing first in a main scanning direction as the start point of a restored image, and the image end dot detecting means 5 detects a dot array which succeed on the same scanning line (in X direction) according to a dot array supplied successively from the image end contour vector array dot generating means 3 and determines the point which appears lastly in the main scanning direction as the end point of the restored image. A painting-out section data generating means 6 for one scanning line generates painting-out data indicating that the section is an image data area when the image start dot and image end dot for one scanning line are determined by the image start dot detecting means 4 and image end dot detecting means 5. |
