PURPOSE:To prevent amount of air from being decreased and prevent the noise from being generated by a method wherein one end of linkage mechanism is connected an air directing plate and the other end of the linkage mechanism is connected to an air blowing port and at the same time the air directing plate can be moved to any position under a selection of an angle of air direction. CONSTITUTION:A linkage shaft 9 of a linkage mechanism 8 for use in connecting an air directing plate 6 to a side plate 4 is provided with projections 10 and 10' at both ends thereof, one end is rotatably inserted into an engaging hole 11 arranged at an air directing plate 6, the other end is rotatably inserted into an engaging hole 13 arranged at end of the link shaft 12 and a projection 13 arranged at the other end of the link shaft 12 is rotatably inserted into an engaging hole 14 arranged at a side plate 4. When a cooling operation is performed, the air directing plate 6 is set at its horizontal state (indicated by a dotted line), and when a heating operation is performed, the air directing plate 6 is set to direct downwardly (indicated by a solid line). In respect to a blowing port distance l1, it may be set at a position where a distance l2 between the lower directed air directing plate 6 and a casing 2 is not decreased, thereby aeration resistance is not increased and a decrease in the amount of air can be prevented and the generation of noise can be prevented.
