METHOD FOR SEPARATING AND PURIFYING LACTOFERRIN FROM MILK USING SULFURIC ACID ESTERIFICATION PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To efficiently separating and purifying the titled substance having high purity from a lactoferrin-containing raw material milk in simple operation and industrial scale, by bringing the lactoferrin-containing raw material milk into contact with a sulfuric acid esterification product of crosslinked polysaccharide. CONSTITUTION:A lactoferrin-containing raw material milk is brought into contact with a sulfuric acid esterification product of crosslinked polysaccharide preferably at room temperature to adsorb the lactoferrin. Then the adsorbed lactoferrin is eluted to carry out separation and purification of the aimed substance. The above-mentioned sulfuric acid esterification product includes e.g. sulfated cellulofine obtained by subjecting a crosslinked cellulose to sulfuric acid esterification. The contact of the raw material milk with the sulfated esterification product is preferably carried out e.g. by using a method passing the raw material milk through the column packed by the sulfated esterification product used as a carrier.
