PURPOSE:To permit easy formation of a material having high reliability on a drum at a high speed by using a film obtd. by a plasma thermal spraying method for a heat insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:After zirconium oxide is formed as the heat insulating layer 2 by a plasma thermal spraying device on the drum 1, the surface of the zirconium oxide is subjected to simple barrel polishing. Al is deposited as a conductive layer 3 on this heat insulating layer 2 and further, chromium oxide is deposited thereon as a magnetic layer 4. a-Si is used for the photoconductive layer 5 and ITO is used for the upper conductive layer 6. The magnetic drum having the heat insulating layer which obviates exfoliation by heat, etc. and is highly reliable and stable even in a heat cycle is thereby obtd. |
