<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the overall power consumption of an information processing system, by turning off an outlet power supply when a peripheral device has a no-job state and then turning off a main power supply when the no-job state lasts in case the main power supply of an information processor main body contains the outlet power supply to the peripheral device. CONSTITUTION:When a main power supply switch 4 of an information processor main body 1 is turned on, an outlet power supply switch 5 of a peripheral device 2 is also turned on. Thus a 1st timer 6 starts counting the operation time of the main body 1 and at the same time a 2nd timer 7 starts counting the no-job time of the device 2 respectively. In this case, an action monitor means 8 detects each time when both the device 2 and an input device 2a start their jobs and resets the timer 7. Then the means 8 detects a fast that a no-job state lasts until a time-out state and a switch control means 9 turns off the switch 5. While the timer 6 continues its counting action and never turns off the switch 4 even in a time-out state unless the switch 5 is turned off. In such constitution, the overall power consumption is decreased for an information processing system.</p> |
