PURPOSE:To automatically secure the relation with the original data by adding the information on the relation with the registered picture data (original data) to the correction data. CONSTITUTION:When pictures are registered, the picture data is read into an image memory 21 from a scanner 4 via a system bus 9 and then stored in an optical disk 7. In this case, a retrieving key word is supplied to the picture data, from a keyboard 5 for correspondence. The tracks, sectors, the number of working sectors, the discrimination between the original data or the modifying data, a pointer into a retrieving file 23 to the modifying data with the original data if discriminated, etc., stored in the disk 7 are added to the file 23 as information. Thus it is possible to secure automatically the relation with the original data.
