In the case of couches which are used in medicine in imaging diagnostic methods, in particular in emission computer tomography, there is provided, in order to immobilise the skull, a headrest which is arranged fixedly at the head end of the couch and contains a head mould corresponding to the head shape. This ensures that the skull can be firmly held over a long period of time in an intended position, so that the shots to be taken of the individual layers of the skull can be carried out without movement-induced disturbances.
