In known apparatuses there are provided hydrostatic journal bearings in which the fluid forms a cushion. Particularly in the case of a high pressure, an uncontrolled fluid loss can only be avoided in these apparatuses at a high cost. The apparatus according to the invention provides ball bearings which are lubricated by the pressurised medium. Means of diverting the lubricating fluid are associated with the ball bearings so that an uncontrolled fluid loss does not occur. The apparatus can be used to feed pressurised fluid to pressurised-medium operated control elements, for example multiple disc clutches or brakes.
