PURPOSE:To form a black matrix to the thickness smaller than the thickness of picture elements and to obtain a liquid crystal color display body having high-grade image quality and high reliability by forming the red, green and blue picture elements consisting of photosensitive natural resins and dyes and the black matrix consisting of an photosensitive synthetic resin and dye on a transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:This color filter is constituted by forming the red, green and blue picture elements consisting of the photosensitive natural resins and dyes and the black matrix consisting of the photosensitive synthetic resin and dye on the transparent substrate and providing a protective layer and transparent electrode layer on the surface thereof. More specifically, the color filter which is improved in characteristics such as color reproducibility and light resistance by formation of the picture elements made of the photosensitive natural resins as the base material for coloration and is suppressed in the degradation of the image quality and the generation of defects by formation of the black matrix reduced in thickness by using the photosensitive synthetic resin as the base material for coloration. |
