PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent coating agent for plastics, consisting of a modified aqueous polyester resin modified with a compound having a thermally crosslinkable functional group and unsaturated bond and having preventing effects on migration of a plasticizer and oligomer to the surface. CONSTITUTION:A transparent coating agent, obtained by adding a radical polymerization initiator (preferably an organic peroxide) to an aqueous dispersion of (A) 100pts.wt. hydrophilic group-containing polyester resin, adding (B) 5-150 pts.wt., preferably 10-100pts.wt. compound having unsaturated bond (e.g. unsaturated nitrile, vinyl ester or unsaturated carboxylic acid ester) at 45-85 deg.C, preferably 70-80 deg.C and reacting both to provide the component (A) modified in an amount of 5-150wt.% component (B) and, as necessary, adding a crosslinking agent, such as epoxy resin, etc., an aqueous urethane resin, etc. for improving adhesive property and useful for molded plastic products.
