Wiper device for windows/headlights of motor vehicles

A device is proposed which serves to wipe windows/headlights on motor vehicles. The wiper device comprises a wiper arm, one end of which is arranged on a wiper shaft which is driven in an oscillating fashion and to whose other end a wiping element is coupled and which has a swivel joint between the wiping element and the wiper shaft, the swivel axis of which swivel joint extends at least approximately in a plane parallel to the surface of the window/headlight. A tension spring engages over this joint and engages with one end on the wiper arm component connected to the wiping element and is secured by its other end to another component of the wiping device which also experiences the swivelling movement of the wiper arm. The tension spring is subjected to a variable pretensioning which adjusts the contact force of the wiping element on the window/headlight to a predetermined value between a minimum value and a maximum value as a function of the temperature change of a component which is part of the wiping device, the component consisting of a material which deforms elastically under the effect of a temperature change. A particularly economical design of this wiping device is achieved with a high degree of operational reliability if the other end of the tension spring is connected to the component which is constructed in the manner of a strip and extends essentially in the pulling direction of the spring, its deformation... in an... on the window/headlight...
