The multiplication circuit according to the subject of the invention consists of a product fixed-value circuit with 81 AND circuits, and eight carry memories (11 to 18) to store the second digit of the product number, if the product number is greater than the number 9. Other main parts of this multiplication circuit include an adder circuit (2a), which adds the first product digit of the multiplication in progress to the second digit of the previous multiplication, and also processes a possible addition carry from the previous cycle. The adder circuit (2a) is not a fixed-value circuit but a genuine adder circuit, the main circuit (20) of which consists only of five individual adder circuits (6). The digit 5 is processed in the final circuit (23), if it occurs once or three times in the product summation. <IMAGE>
