A process is described for winning V2O5 from vanadium-containing sores, ore concentrates and slags, which comprises the following process steps: milling of the raw materials, pelletising of the milled raw materials with Na2SO4 and/or Na2CO3, drying of the pellets, firing of the pellets at from 800 to 1300@C in the presence of atmospheric oxygen, leaching the fine pellets with water, precipitating the SiO2 from the NaVO3 solution obtained in leaching by neutralisation and adding aluminium sulphate and also precipitating the vanadate by addition of ammonium sulphate. This process provides for the dried pellets to be fired on a moving grille, the layer thickness of the pellets being from 25 to 50 cm and the firing procedure being able to comprise three different temperature stages.
