The machine for loading a ship's hold with either bulk material or piece parts, has a helical chute attached to a supporting core. The chute is mounted vertically at the end of a horizontal arm which can be moved horizontally to distribute the goods over the hold. The chute can also be moved vertically by two cables wound onto a drum. These cables are coiled around the chute core and cause the chute to rotate as it moves vertically so that the chute clears the guide rollers which guide the core and hold it vertical. The helical chute is loaded through a short straight chute. USE - Loading ship's hold.
