PURPOSE:To enable the exclusive separation and recovery of normal whiskers in high efficiency with dry process, by loosening entangled whiskers in a tank with a fluidizing air stream, proceeding the loosening by disturbing a transportation flow during pneumatic transportation and classifying and recovering the whiskers. CONSTITUTION:A whisker raw material supplied to a tank 1 through a feed port 2 forms a filled layer 5 on the upper face of a fluidized bed 3. A fluidizing air flow is blasted from an air flow supplying means 4 against the filled layer. The layer 5 begins to flow and the whiskers are agitated in the tank 1. Blown up whiskers are introduced together with air stream into a pneumatic transportation means 7 connected to an exhaust port 6 and large lump of blown up whisker is sedimented and returned to the layer 5 by gravitational force. Fibers entangled by fusion, etc., are loosened by blowing a stirring flow through an air flow blasting means 9 of a flow-agitation means 8 attached to the middle part of the means 7. The flow rate of the stirring flow is 1-5 times the flow rate of the transportation flow of the means 4. If necessary, the flow rate is increased by a nozzle apparatus 10 to loosen the fibers and to cut and recover the pill-like abnormal surface fibers and the fibers are classified with an air gyration classifier 11.
