<p>PURPOSE:To perform sharp high quality recording, by connecting the light emitting diode elements of a light emitting diode array to the connection terminals of an integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION:An electric insulating layer 28 is formed on the individual signal lines l1-l64 of a substrate 21 and common signal electrodes VK 1 - VK 40 are formed thereon. Light emitting diode arrays A 1 - A 40 are individually bonded on the common signal electrodes VK 1 - VK 40 and these common signal electrodes VK 1 - VK 40 act as one terminals for allowing a current to flow to the light emitting diode elements 1p1-1p64, 2p1-2p64, ..., 40p1-40p64 of the arrays A 1 - A 40 to allow said diode elements to emit light. Since the light emitting diode elements are selectively driven at every array by this constitution, a large current is not required at once. Therefore, the generation of Joule heat is suppressed to make it possible to suppress not only the change of the light emitting wavelength and brightness of each light emitting diode element due to the generation of heat in dependence on temp. but also the irregularity at every light emitting diode element.</p> |
