SERIAL READ/WRITE TYPE PROM WRITING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To perform reading and writing operations, by providing a means which converts ROM address signals and ROM data signals of parallel outputs into serial signals and another means which controls the transmission of the serial signal. CONSTITUTION:A unilateral converting means 1 converts parallel signals (address signals) outputted from a ROM writer A into serial signals and outputs the serial signals to a signal selecting means 3. A bilateral converting means 2 converts data signals into parallel or serial signal between the ROM writer A and outputs the parallel or serial signals to the means 3. At the same time, the means 2 converts serial ROM data signals inputted from a serial read/write type ROM 6 through a receiving means 5 into parallel signals and outputs the parallel signals to the writer A. A transmitting means 4 transmits the signal of the means 1 or that of the means 2 selected by the means 3 to the ROM 6. The ROM 6 recognizes the serial signal as ROM address signals by means of a signal for selecting the ROM address and as ROM data signals by means of a signal for selecting ROM data.
