PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having excellent transparency, water- resistance and heat-resistance, by including a sulfoxide-type solvent in a skeleton of crosslinked acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A sulfoxide-type solvent is included in a skeleton of a crosslinked acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol having acetoacetyl group crosslinked with a crosslinking agent for acetoacetyl group. The crosslinking agent for acetoacetyl group is selected from compound containing aldehyde group, compound containing amino group and compound containing hydrazide group. The sulfoxide-type compound is methyl sulfoxide. Proteins, enzymes, perfumes, deodorants, pharmaceuticals, etc., can be included in the present composition by specific solubility of sulfoxide compound to organic or inorganic compound and, accordingly, the composition can be used e.g. as a base for drug for transcutaneous administration.
