<p>This invention relates to a flywheel assembly consisting of first and second flywheels (20, 23). An intermediate frictional force generating mechanism (42) adapted to generate a small frictional force within a range of small twist angles and an intermediate frictional force within a range of intermediate twist angles is provided between these flywheels (20, 23). Also, a maximum frictional force generating mechanism (54) adapted to generate a maxximum frictional force within a range of large twist angles is provided between the same flywheels (20, 23). A large torque exceeding an operational twist angle of the intermediate frictional force generating mechanism (42) can be buffered by a large frictional force generated by a sliding motion of the maximum frictional force generating mechanism (54).</p> |
