PURPOSE:To eliminate unevenness of a coated film surface by applying a 1st magnetic field to a magnetic coated film, then alternately applying the 2nd and 3rd magnetic fields in another direction except the direction where the magnetic fields are reverse to said film more strongly to the 1st magnetic field so as to non-orient the film, and applying magnetic fields of gradually decreasing intensities thereto. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic particles mechanically oriented in a conveying direction 7 by a coating means 3 pass the non-oriented magnetic field 4. The magnetic particles successively and alternately pass a magnet 12 of the magnetic field 11 in the conveying direction 7, magnet 10a of the repulsive magnetic field 9a at 45 deg. or 225 deg. with the direction 7 and a magnet 10b of the repulsive magnetic field 9b at 135 deg. or 315 deg. with the direction 7 during this time by which the orientation directions are changed over. The magnetic field 12 is weak in the region 4a and the magnetic fields 9a, 9b are strong in the region 4b so that the magnetic particles in the coated film are magnetized and unified in direction in the weak magnetic field of the region 4a and are then moderately and sufficiently non-oriented in the strong magnetic fields 9a, 9b. The degree and pattern of the non-orientation are controlled by disposition of the magnets 10a, 10b. The unevenness is eliminated when the magnetic particles are passed through the gradually decreasing magnetic field 14 where the magnets 14a... are successively parted from the base 1 along the direction 7 next to the magnetic field 4.
