A form, fill and seal apparatus (10) for producing flexible containers having fitments (13) located at one end of the container. The invention provides a former (12) for folding into a tubular shape a substantially flat web of film (11) with attached fitments (13). The former (12) includes a substantially V-shaped member (30), an elongated member (32) secured to the V-shaped member (30), and a U-shaped member (36). The V-shaped member (30), elongated member (32), and U-shaped member (36) cooperate to fold the substantially flat web of film (11) to bring opposite longitudinal portions thereof into aligned relationship. |
