PURPOSE:To obtain an attractant substance-containing gel, containing a rubber ingredient having double bonds in the molecule as a carrier and a liquid attractant substance, capable of containing a large amount of the attractant substance and having long-period effectiveness capable of releasing the substance at a specific ratio for a long period. CONSTITUTION:An attractant substance-containing gel, obtained by using a rubber ingredient having double bonds in the molecule as a carrier (e.g. natural rubber, butadiene rubber or styrene-isoprene rubber), a liquid attractant substance held between the skeleton thereof and capable of releasing >=60% above- mentioned liquid attractant substance at a constant ratio per unit time, having long-period effectiveness and useful for exterminating insect pests. Cinnamaldehyde, citral, etc., in an amount of >=30wt.% are used as the liquid attractant substance and such substances and the rubber ingredient are dissolved in a low-boiling solvent (e.g. toluene or dichloromethane). The resultant solution is cast in the form of a layer or applied onto a base plate to a given thickness and then the solvent is evaporated to produce the aimed gel.
