PURPOSE:To provide a gas burner having a large heating capacity for its compact size, being capable of corresponding to a large change in heating load, and preventing noise by a method wherein walls for forming combustion surfaces extended upward from the side ends of flame ports ejecting mixed gas upward are installed in the inclined posture so that the walls are away from the corresponding locations extended upward from the flame ports as the walls rise upward and discharge ports of a secondary air supply path are installed on the walls for forming combustion surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Secondary air for combustion from an electric motor 12 is supplied into a combustion space 6 through slit-shaped ejecting ports 14 and mixed gas ejected from ports 5 is burnt to form flames at the ports 5. High temp. gas containing unburnt part is raised up along walls 3, 4 and the secondary air from the ports 14 is dispersed and mixed into the high temp. gas to burn the unburnt gas contained therein, and flames F are formed in the condition that the flames stick fast to the combustion surfaces 3a, 4a on the walls 3, 4. At the time of low input, the flames are only formed at the lower parts of the walls 3, 4 and at the time of high input, the flames are formed on the overall height of the walls 3, 4.
