PURPOSE:To reduce impedance variation depending on the position of a tap while the effect of reducing a transported weight is maintained by making the turn ratio of an outer regulating winding and an inner regulating winding nearly equal to the turn ratio of a line side transformer winding and a neutral side transformer winding. CONSTITUTION:A line side high voltage winding 11 and a neutral side high voltage winding 12 are connected in series and a tap winding 18 is connected to the neutral point of the winding 12. An inner regulating winding 16 and an outer regulating winding 15 are connected in series and an exciting winding 17 is connected to the series circuit in parallel. The turn ratio of the winding 15 and the winding 16 is made to be nearly equal to the turn ratio of the winding 11 and the winding 1. By the adjustment like this, the summation of the ampere-turns of the winding 11 and the ampere-turns of the winding 15 is approximately constant regardless to the position of a tap. Therefore, the flux densities in gaps inside and outside of a low voltage winding 13 are respectively almost constant regardless of the position of the tap. With this constitution, the impedance variation depending on the position of the tap can be reduced.
