PURPOSE:To miniaturize the tip of an endoscope, by providing a radiation detecting section comprising a scintillator and an opening for making radiation incident thereinto at a part of a wall at an endoscope inserting section. CONSTITUTION:A radiation detecting section 20 is provided at the front end of the tip 2 of an endoscope 1. The detecting section 20 comprises a collimator 21 expanded upward and a scintillator 22 provided on the bottom thereof and a resin cover 23 is arranged at the upper end of collimator 21. The scintillator 22 is sealed up with a glass plate 25 on the side of the endoscope 1 and one end of a light guide 26 is arranged facing the glass plate 25 within the tip 2. The collimator and the scintillator are arranged utilizing the max. part of the diameter of the endoscope inserting section thereby enabling the setting of a radiation detector without increasing the diameter of the endoscope.
