<p>The device comprises: an arm (17) which is rigidly fixed to the base (8) of the chin rest without touching the sound box of the violin; a ball device (29, 37) which can be locked by screws (38) and be adjusted along the arm (17); and a shoulder rest piece (32). Adjustment of the ball device (29, 37) along the arm (17) makes it possible to adjust the distance from the piece (32) to the base (8) of the chin rest (2), and the ball device (29, 37) itself, the orientation and tilt of the piece (32) relative to the violin. The distance to the violin from the rest piece (32) can be modified by a series of differently bent arms (17). These various adjustments enable the violinist to adapt, theoretically once and for all, the device to his anatomy and habits.</p> |
