PURPOSE:To prevent the scatter of lead oxide dust and to reduce the generation of welding defectives by masking an electrically connecting part with an insulating, acid resistant material, conducting formation, removing the masking material after formation, and electrically connecting the masking removed part. CONSTITUTION:In an unformed plate using an expanded grid, the part to be electrically connected when a battery is assembled is masked with an insulating, acid resistant material before formation. After formation, the masking material in the masked part 1 is removed, and electrical connection is done in the masking removed part 4 when a battery is assembled. Since the part to be electrically connected is masked, an oxide film 3 does not form there during formation, and by removing the masking material in the masked part 1 after formation, the surface suitable for welding can be ensured there. Therefore, the scatter of lead oxide dust produced by removing the oxide film does not arise and environmental sanitation is remarkably increased. |
