BURN THROUGH DETECTING METHOD FOR ARC WELDING

PURPOSE:To minimize weld defects by picking up a shape of arc light on an image from the upper part of a weld zone and analyzing a place where the arc light and light of a burn through part show the peculiar shape to detect the sudden burn through in a moment. CONSTITUTION:The shape of an arc A is picked up on an image from the upper part of the weld zone and when a burn through phenomenon takes place, since the burn through surface is cut off from escape of heat, it shines intensely in a moment and the characteristic shape is shown on a pictorial image of a television. By this method, the burn through which is an important defect of the welding is detected in the real time and the sudden burn through taking place by material of a work, the change of the shape or the sudden change of output of a welding machine is detected in a moment to minimize the weld defects.
