PURPOSE:To allow the face of an opposite phase to be observed from the front each other by using a beam splitter provided on a telephone set main body so as to make a visual line viewing the other party displayed on a television screen coincident with an optical axis of a television camera picking up a talker. CONSTITUTION:A cathode ray tube 1a of a television receiver 1 is provided upward on the bottom of a television telephone main body 5 and a picture appearing on the cathode ray tube 1a from the beam splitter 4 is to be observed from the front face through a glass 3 fitted to the opening 6. Moreover, the eye line of the lens 2a of the television camera 2 provided on the rear side of the beam splitter 4 picks up the talker face from the front. Then a handset 10 is provided on the lower front part of the main body 5. Moreover, the space 8 at the rear side of the beam splitter 4 is made dark. Thus, the talkers can make conversation while observing the face of opposite party with each other.
