PURPOSE:To easily cut with less heat input amt. without giving a breakdown to a back face and nearby accessory by cutting a steel by utilizing the cleavage crack caused by feeding a specific metal to the heating melt zone of a steel. CONSTITUTION:One face 2 of a steel 1 is heated by moving along a cut line 5 by the arc 4 of a torch 3 by applying TIG welding method, etc. and continuously melted. Then, what a copper or copper alloy is made in bar or wire shape is continuously fed to a heating melt zone 6 as a filler metal 7. The filler metal 7 melted in the zone 6 forms a phase precipitation part 8 with its infiltration and diffusion to the base metal of the steel stock to make the base metal part brittle. In the solidification shrinkage stage, a solidification shrinkage stress becomes a tensile stress by the constraint of the base metal and a cleavage crack 9 is caused with the tensile stress acting. A stress is then loaded in order to propagate and develop the crack in the heating melt zone 6 of semi-melding state and continuous cracks are caused to attain to a rupture 10.
