PURPOSE:To surely align the selvages of dish cloths even through the widths of upwarped dish cloths differ from each other, so as to precisely warp the dish cloth by providing microwave welders for temporarily retaining both selvages of a dish cloth held by dish cloth selvage clampers, by means of spot-welding. CONSTITUTION:Air is jetted from the forward ends of dish cloth selvage guide plates 8<a>, 8<b> and U-shaped intermediate plates 8<a>', 8<b>' onto both sides of each dish cloth selvage, and the selvages of dish cloths A, B are fed into two dish cloth selvage clampers 4<a> while they are sufficiently smoothened so as to remove fold-creases. When dish cloth selvage detectors 6<a>-6<d> disposed in the clampers 4<a>, 4<b> detect the selvages of the dish cloths A, B, clamping pieces 7<a>, 7<a>', 7<b>, 7<b>' are actuated to clamp the dish cloth selvages, and the jetting of air is stopped. In this condition, microwave welders 5<a>, 5<b> temporarily retain the selvages by means of spot-welding, and thereafter the two dish cloths A, B are aligned with each other and secured by means of a press bar and a receiver therefor. Then a sewing machine runs along the line connecting between the two welded points so that selvages of the dish cloths A, B are sewed together and are warped.
