PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a conversion circuit to convert the arrangement of image signals by entering in parallel a line of signals of the first group to the N group into the first set of shift registers and transmitting the signals sequentially to set signals of P bits to each set of shift registers in an optical writing head with MXNXP pieces of light emitting element and a storage location of P bits and also with MXN pieces of shift register to drive the mentioned light emitting elements. CONSTITUTION:The first group - the N group of signal lines are entered in parallel and set into the first set of shift register arranged on the input side of image signals of the M set of shift registers. That is, the signal arrays to be set in the shift registers of the M set are entered by each set from the first set of shift registers, and sequentially transferred. Consequently, for the conversion of a single line of image signals which are entered from an external device, it has only to be performed by each set of shift registers, that is, by NXP bits, thus minimizing the memory capacity and the range of memory addresses. Further, the circuit to convert the arrangement of image signals is extremely simplified.
|
