PURPOSE:To transmit data automatically between a coast earth station and an international exchange, by adding a disable tone detector of an echo suppressor to a compander. CONSTITUTION:Detectors 31 and 32 of an enable tone which enables an echo suppressor 21 of an international exchange 4 are provided in a coast earth station 3 and a ship station 2. When a calling subscriber of a land subscriber's terminal 5 dials the number of the ship station 2 to be called and makes conversation with a telephone set 11 to operate a disable tone generator 25, the echo suppressor 21 of the international exchange 4 is stopped. The disable tone passes the coast earth station 3 through a communication line and reaches the ship station 2 through a communication satellite 1, and therefore, detectors 31 and 32 are operated to enable companders 19 and 14, and preparation for data transmission is completed when the transmission of the enable tone is stopped. |
