The supporting construction consists of crossmembers which are bent according to the desired ceiling curvature and which are suspended transversely relative to the longitudinal extension of the arch in a known way from an anchoring base, for example a building ceiling, and of ceiling carrier rails which, extending in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the arch, are fastened at predetermined distances from one another to the underside of the suspended crossmembers and lie with their undersides on a track curve extending over the desired arch contour.
