<p>PURPOSE:To install upper and lower work rolls symmetrically and to prevent troubles caused by asymmetry by adjusting a position of at least one of the work rolls in the back and forward direction to equalize respective forces in the back and forward direction imposed on the upper and lower work rolls to each other. CONSTITUTION:Load cells 13, 14 detecting support reactions F1, F2 are installed on chocks 11, 12 of supporting rolls 9, 10; position in back and forward direction adjusting screws 15, 16 and position controllers 17, 18 for the screws 15, 16 are also installed. The controllers 17, 18 are fixed to a housing and have a structure to bear the support reaction. The cells 13, 14 detect the reactions F1, F2 respectively and a computer 19 calculates a difference DELTAF. Then, a computer 20 calculates an upper work roll moving amount DELTAy1 and a lower work roll moving amount DELTAy2 by formulas. Succeedingly, the calculated values DELTAy1, DELTAy2 are sent to the back and forward direction roll position controllers 17, 18 to control positions in the back and forward directions of the work rolls 1, 2.</p> |
