PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a battery or an appliance caused by leakage of corrosive electrolyte by forming a container plate with a metal laminated with thermoplastic synthetic resin film, interposing a frame-like sheet made of the same material as the resin film between the container plates, and heating the peripheries of the container plates to bond the resin films. CONSTITUTION:At least one side of a metal container plate is laminated with a thermoplastic synthetic resin film 2. A recess is formed in the center of at least one container plate. Two metal container plates 1 are faced so as to locate the films 2 inside. A frame-like sheet 3 made of the same material as the film 2 is interposed between the container plates. By heating, the films 2 are bonded to form a container. Since the sheet 3 exists in addition to the films 2, no exposer of the metal plate to the electrolyte caused by generation of cracks or pinholes in the laminated films 2 is developed and corrosion of the metal plate by electrolyte can be prevented. A thin lead-acid battery having no electrolyte leakage and steady quality used for a portable appliance can be obtained. |
