PURPOSE:To improve the workability of the igniter for ignition and fire-extinguishing and to perform notification of a fact that the igniter is being ignited by providing ignition maintaining means for supplying a gas to a burner part by pushing an operating button to actuate igniting means and thus continuing and maintaining the ignition, and extinguishing of fire by releasing the ignition maintaining means by pushing the operating button. CONSTITUTION:The ignition of a burner part 2 is performed in sequence by the steps of, pushing an operating button 1 into the remotest part of a stroke S, pushing a pushing bar 18 into a burner part 2 by a pushing member 41 of the operating button 1 through a keep plate 62 to feed a gas to the burner part 2, turning a switch 43 on by the tip end of the button 1, applying a high voltage to a spark discharge part 42, and carrying out a spark discharge therein to ignite a burner part 2. The ignited state is maintained by ignition maintaining means, the operating button 1 is held at a position protruding from the front surface of the apparatus to notify that the apparatus is being ignited. When the operating button 1 indicative of burning is depressed, a pin 32 on the side of the operating button 1 rotates a cam plate 36 toward the left hand to turn off a fire extinguishing switch 44, and interrupts a safety valve 13 to stop the supply of a gas and also to stop the combustion of the burner part 2. |
