PURPOSE:To obviate defective transfer and obtain a printed matter with favorable transfer efficiency, by adsorbing a resin polymer in a specified thickness on surfaces of ferromagnetic particulates constituting an ink layer, in a weight in a specified range based on the weight of the particulates, in an ink medium comprising a thermoplastic magnetic ink layer. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer comprises at least ferromagnetic particulates on the surface of which are adsorbed a resin polymer in a weight of 0.1-10wt.% based on the weight of the particulates and in a thickness of 0.1-3.0mum, preferably, 0.3-1.0mum. If the amount of the adsorbed resin based on the weight of the ferromagnetic particulates is less than 0.1wt.%, the amount of the resin is insufficient, and wax can not easily move together with the magnetic particles. If the amount of the resin exceeds 10wt.%, the melt viscosity of a magnetic ink medium 62 is raised, and a resisting force against the transfer of the ink onto a transfer recording paper 63 is increased. In such cases, transfer efficiency is lowered. Accordingly, the amount of the resin is suitably 0.1-10wt.% based on the weight of the particulates.
