PURPOSE:To display information related to a fault so that a preview of a transmission system can be made automatically, by separating superimposed signals from input sound signals inputted to a transmission system and output sound signals outputted from the system, upon which the superimposed signals are superimposed, and comparing the superimposed signals with each other. CONSTITUTION:Sound signals reproduced with a video tape recorder 1 are inputted to a separation circuit 16 composed of a low-pass filter, etc., and superimposed signals are separated and stored in a memory 14. Sound signals outputted from another video tape recorder 4 are inputted to another separation circuit 26 and superimposed signals are stored in another memory 24. Compared results between the superimposed signals stored in the memory 14 and those stored in the memory 24 by means of a comparator circuit 32 are compared with a reference pattern stored in a memory 35 and the compared results are outputted to a control circuit 5. Therefore unifying editing can be carried out by watching the display of a display means 36 and the succeeding previews can be omitted.
