PURPOSE:To perform shearing with excellent size accuracy, by a method wherein plates are intermittently conveyed in a state that the rear end of the plate is clamped by a plate conveying means, and are conveyed at intervals of a given distance without using a stopper for positioning. CONSTITUTION:Plates A on a lifter 11 are taken out one by one by a feed means 1 to feed them to a conveying means 2. The rear end part thereof is clamped by a conveying member 22 to convey the plates at intervals of a given distance. The plates are orderly cut by a shearing means 3, and are conveyed onto a moving truck 45 by means of a conveyance belt 41. In this case, a pinion, engaged with a pair of racks secured to a device body, is driven through a gear box 22f with the aid of a servo motor 22c, and the conveying member 22 is moved along a pair of rails secured to the device body. At a point of time when conveyance is completed. a clamp claw 22d is lowered to a level lower than that of a conveyor 21 with the aid of an elevating cylinder 22e, and is returned to the feed means 1 side for raising again. In a pair of guide plates 23, a distance therebetween is regulatable through rotation of a screw member, and the plate A is conveyed to the central part of a shearing blade 31.
