APPLICATION OF SPECIFIC LIGHTING TREATMENTS FOR PROMOTION OF ANTHOCYANIN IN ECONOMICALLY IMPORTANT CROPS Anthocyanin formation in fruit and crop including apples, grapes, cranberries, and poinsettia can be improved by a night-break treatment, prior to harvest, of both blue and red lights having a maximum emission peaks centered around 448 nm and 660 nm, respectively. Following harvest, apples in cold storage can be subjected to continuous red light. |
