PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight sensor which has a small-sized photodetection part by forming one end of an optical fiber as the photodetection part or connecting it to the light projection side of the photodetection part, and connecting the other end to the light incidence side of a detection part. CONSTITUTION:A photodetection end 1a is fitted to the structure panel of an artificial satellite 10 by a support frame 2. The optical fiber 1 has its axis perpendicularly to the surface of the structure panel nearby a photodetection body 1a. Further, the light projection end 1b of the optical fiber 1 is fitted facing a detector 3 for light. Then a signal generated by the detector 3 is processed 4. Then the sunshine beam R incident from the photodetection end 1a of the optical fiber 1 is guided to the optical fiber 1 and reaches the detector 3. The detector 3 generates and sends a signal corresponding to the intensity of light projected from the light projection end 1b of the optical fiber 1 to a signal processing part 4. The signals processing part 4 calculates the intensity of the light incident on the photodetection end 1a from the level of the received signal and further calculates the angle theta or theta' of the incident light from the intensity of the light to know the direction of the sun.
