PURPOSE:To improve the color tone of a silver image by incorporating a specified compd. (a thiadiazole compd., etc.) in a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind compd. among the compds. shown by formulas I and II is incorporated in the silver halide emulsion layer. In formulas I and II, M is hydrogen atom, alkali metal atom or an ammonium group, X is oxygen, sulfur or selenium tom, Y is -S-, -NR1-, -CO-NR2-, -NR3-CS-NR4, -NR5-COO-, -NR6-CO-, -NR7-SO2- or -NR8- group, R1-R8 are each hydrogen atom, alkyl or aryl group, etc. R is alkylene, aralkylene or arylene group, Z is amino, quarternary ammonium or a heterocyclic ring group, T and U are each CH group or N atom, A is arylene group, Y' is H, C, N, O or S atom or a bivalent binding group comprising said atomic groups, R' is alkylene, aralkylene or arylene group, (l), (m) and (n) are each 0 or 1, (p) is 1 or 2. Accordingly, as said compd. is incorporated in the emulsion layer, the stability of the silver image is improved, and the image having a neutral black tone is obtd. |
