PURPOSE:To reduce consumption power by generating an image pickup element driving pulse and a synchronizing signal for signal processing only in a necessary moment. CONSTITUTION:A clear transfer mode is turned ON, a CCD is driven and the CCD is cleared before photographing. The clear transfer mode is turned OFF and a system is set to an accumulation mode for an exposure time required. The accumulation mode is turned OFF, and the system is set to a read mode. An ENPG is set to Low and a WRphi set to High. If a PG turns from Low to High accompanied by the rotation of a magnetic sheet, an ENABLE becomes High and a read pulse generation circuit operates by the decoder output. A clock is simultaneously supplied to a signal processing system, and the reading of a CCD charge and the writing into the magnetic sheet are executed. Thus, the pulse is supplied from a PG signal just before a recording period to an image pickup signal processing system by about one field period at the time of field recording.
